Time travel: The next frontier
By Tania Dooley
So black holes, worm holes, and time machines that can safely take us back in time and bring us to the present, is it possible? We still do not know but by the looks of things we are closer than ever to finding out.

Black holes, worm holes, and time machines, what do they have in common? They get our imagination going about the possibility of going back into time. What if it was possible to go back into time, then come back to the present without any problems? Where would you go? What period in history would you witness, or what period in your own life or a loved one's life would you like to visit? Would you just be a witness or would you try to change something?
Time travel has sparked our imaginations for centuries. It has been the life's work of many scientists and physicists, and has been the theme of hundreds of science fiction books, and movies. Think of the 80's Blockbuster film Back to the Future, and Terminator, and more current ones such as Interstellar.
Recently a physicist named Germain Tobar from the University of Queensland, Australia claims he has come up with a formula that makes time travel possible, without the possible problems associated with time travel. Problems such as changing a bit of history to the point where that important time period would not exist, or worse, changing a bit of history to where you would not exist.
Tobar isn't the first physicist to investigate time travel. Albert Einstein came up with the theory of relativity which speculates that time travel is possible because space and time are essentially illusions. He has suggested that time is the fourth dimension and can be bent or warped therefore making time travel possible. A colleague of Einstein, mathematician Kurt Godel was the first to write down a mathematical solution that could possibly permit time travel (NBCnews.com, 2017).
